Waikiki Beach Services was again voted #1 in the Surf Lesson category in Hawaii Magazine’s Readers Choice Best of 2022. Waikiki Beach Services surf lessons are safe and reputable: all of our surf instructors are licensed in CPR/lifesaving and are certified by the State of Hawaii to teach surf lessons in Waikiki. We are versed in teaching everyone from complete newbies to surfing, up to more experienced surfers looking for some surf coaching. Waikiki is well-known for being the best place to learn to surf as it provides a sheltered bay with sandy bottom; there are no vicious undertows; and all activities are watched over by City and County of Honolulu lifeguards.

LEARN TO SURF FROM A WAIKĪKĪ BEACHBOY while visiting Waikīkī. The gentle, rolling waves and sandy ocean bottom make it a perfect place for beginners to learn the art of he’enalu, or “board sliding.” With the experienced and knowledgeable instructors of Waikīkī Beach Services, you can quickly gain confidence and enjoy the thrill of surfing in a safe and supportive environment.

Please note that beginning January 1, 2024, a $1 fee will be collected for each surf, SUP, or canoe ride participant. This fee is for the OSF, or Ocean Stewardship Fund, created by the State of Hawaiʻi and enforced by the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
