OUR MISSION

Waikīkī Beach Services has been part of life on Waikīkī Beach since 1955. Through surf lessons, canoe surfing, and beach services, generations of Waikīkī Beachboys have shared their knowledge of the ocean and the traditions that shaped this shoreline.

Waikīkī has changed over the years, but our purpose remains the same:

  • Share and perpetuate the Hawaiian arts of surfing and canoe surfing.
  • Carry forward the legacy of the Waikīkī Beachboys.
  • Care for Waikīkī Beach, its waters, and the community around us.

OUR COMMITMENT

Aloha is more than a welcome. It shapes how we treat our guests, our employees, our community, and the place we call home.

We are committed to creating a respectful and inclusive workplace, caring for Waikīkī through beach cleanups and responsible ocean practices, reducing waste, and helping guests understand how they can protect the beach and reef.

We also support Hawaiʻi’s future leaders through scholarships focused on marine stewardship, community service, trade skills, and Native Hawaiian studies.

TRAINED, TESTED & LICENSED

Waikīkī Beach Services is a registered Hawaiʻi business in good standing. We operate in accordance with applicable State of Hawaiʻi and Department of Land and Natural Resources requirements.

Our surf instructors, canoe captains, and catamaran operators must meet the testing and licensing requirements for their roles. These qualifications are built through years of hands-on training, apprenticeship, and experience on Waikīkī Beach.

PART OF THE WAIKĪKĪ COMMUNITY

Waikīkī Beach Services is an active member of the Hawaiʻi Visitors & Convention Bureau, the Waikīkī Improvement Association, and the Waikīkī Beach Special Improvement District Association.

Through these organizations, we remain involved in the care, stewardship, and long-term future of Waikīkī Beach and the surrounding community.
