EXPERIENCE WAIKĪKĪ FROM THE WATER
Stand up, paddle out, and take in Waikīkī from a new perspective. With Diamond Head and the Waikīkī coastline as your backdrop, stand-up paddling offers a relaxed and scenic way to experience the water.
From check-in to launch, the entire stand-up paddle lesson takes place just steps from The Royal Hawaiian. Your Waikīkī stand-up paddle lesson begins with land-based instruction and a safety briefing before heading onto the water. A paddleboard, paddle, and complimentary rash guard are included.
Each lesson is tailored to your experience level and covers proper stance, balance, paddling technique, and turning in Waikīkī’s calm, protected waters. As you glide over the reef, you may even spot a honu (turtle) swimming below.
Every Waikīkī Beachboy instructor is certified in lifeguarding and CPR and must meet rigorous licensing requirements before teaching stand-up paddle lessons.

Stand-up paddle lessons are offered daily at the following times, subject to availability:
8:30 AM

- All participants must be able to swim without assistance.
- Participants must be at least 13 years old.
- Lessons last approximately one hour and 15 minutes. The first 15 minutes include land-based instruction and a safety briefing.
- All necessary stand-up paddle equipment is provided, including complimentary use of a rash guard.
- Professional photos and videos may be available for purchase. Photography is not guaranteed unless a photo and video package is purchased in advance.
- Pregnant guests and guests with existing back or neck injuries cannot participate in stand-up paddle lessons.

Please note that beginning January 1, 2024 a $1 fee will be collected for each surf, SUP or canoe ride participant. This fee is for the OSF, or Ocean Stewardship Fund, a fund created by the State of Hawaiʻi and enforced by the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
